Description:
Photographer and storyteller David J. Schwartz debuts his latest series with Roadwork Ahead: The Exhibition at Art On 66 in Wilmington, Illinois. Serving as a companion to his conference talk Roadwork Ahead: A Future for the Mother Road, the exhibition extends his presentation into a visual installation on the evolving legacy of Route 66. Through striking imagery, David highlights what he has witnessed change, what has endured, and the resilience that continues to define the Mother Road.
The exhibition opens with a reception on Sunday, October 12, from 11 AM to 3 PM, and remains on display through November 21, 2025.
At the same time, David’s earlier series, Nurtured by the Mother Road, continues on view at Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios in Tulsa, reflecting his long-standing commitment to telling the quieter, often overlooked stories of resilience and connection found along Route 66.
